This page looks at the different type of ceremony that I am able or have conducted as a Marriage Celebrant

Types of Wedding Ceremonies

All wedding ceremonies have the same legalities, but vary so much when it comes to the type of ceremony that couples wish to have. There is no one style and no shoulds. Only you get one chance to have this ceremony so have what you want. Have a look on my Facebook page for many different photos.

Contact me when you are ready to be wowed

Welcome to my page explaining the range of ceremonies I conduct. The LOCATION is either in my Home Office (caters up to 8 people only) OR out of my Home office such as a beach, or park or garden, in a wedding reception venue or restaurant or hotel room or even on a boat, or at the airport before you fly out to your honeymoon, etc. Once the location is decided then there are many different Types of Ceremonies that I assist my couples with to provide a wonderful start to their married life.

Contact when you are ready to be wowed and vowed.

A Brief explanation of the different types of ceremonies are included below:

Discrete and Private Weddings–

This is for people who only want a very simple ceremony where there are virtually no family or friends. I have conducted many such ceremonies and they have been for a whole range of reasons. Just contact me if you are interested in finding out more. Note you will still need to have two eligible witnesses for the marriage to be legal though. Have a look at the ceremonies on my Facebook page.

Registry Type Wedding / Short Sweet Wedding

This is where the couple are basically having a ceremony to obtain the Marriage Certificate with the legal parts completed and registered in Australia. As you are aware getting married involves two main aspects – legal and ceremonial. So most who have this type of ‘very short and sweet ceremony’ do so to get the legalities done, then they may have the larger ceremonies (without the legal bit) in front of larger groups of  family and friends at other places and other times. Or it could just be to save money, as it is the cheapest form of wedding ceremony.

See examples on my Graham Lambert Marriage Celebrant Facebook page.

Bali Wedding (or getting married overseas)  / Elopement Wedding

Where Australian citizens get have a large ceremony with family and friends in holiday resorts or with family overseas. They have a ‘very short and sweet ceremony’ in my home office to complete the legal requirements of getting married in Australia, then proclaim their love and commitment to each other in a large ceremony but not having to worry about the legal side of things. Again, this is a cheap way to legalise your marriage AND it gives you peace of mind that it was formally registered in Australia. I can arrange witnesses if needed too.

Traditional or Formal Wedding –

This is where a couple has their wedding ceremony as with the pomp as might be dreamed of when getting married or as seen on TV, where one party walks down the aisle, and has a purpose designed ceremony presented by myself to a gathering of family and friends who then have a reception afterwards. These type of ceremonies are as varied a one can dream of and all are unique. These are by far the majority of the ceremonies that I conduct. They incorporate the legal and ceremonial aspects of getting married at the same time.

Surprise Wedding –

These are weddings where both parties to the marriage surprise the attending guests with a wedding. It is still a legal and ceremonial marriage but where the couple do not want their guests to be bothered with presents or with family and friends who innocently might suggest what they ‘should have’ if their wedding was announced. Once the surprise is complete the ceremony is like others where it included ceremony and legalities at the same time. Legally – so long as both the Bride and Groom agree to the wedding on that date and at that time, then the normal legal processes apply. That is, one person (eg a Bride) cannot organise a wedding to wed a partner and spring it on him on the evening, without him being fully involved and in agreeance. This is why we have the Notice of Intended Marriage form that needs to be completed at least one month and one day before hand. Apart from that, a surprise wedding is a real, and legally wedding.

Themed Wedding –

This is where guests are asked to all wear a specific (or general) type of (fancy) dress for their wedding. For example I have conducted weddings where the themes were Halloween, Star Wars  and Medieval. It makes for wonderful and different photos being taken to remember the wonderful day.

Visa Wedding –

These are weddings which are the same as for any other couple and may be any of the above types. Just that the visa which had been applied for has now been granted and that the wedding needs to be conducted within a certain time frame. See my Visa Wedding Facebook Page for more examples and information.

Pop Up Wedding –

Wedding ceremonies organised by a wedding planner where basically the couple just rock up on the day to have the wedding ceremony. Of course all the legal requirements are planned appropriately. The coordinator organises photographer, arch n carpet n chairs n covers, and coordinates with a selected celebrant. The aim is to provide a no fuss wedding ceremony, for a very reasonable fee without having to do all the hassles yourself on a set date. If you would like to be part of one of these, please contact Graham  or ring   0439919817

No Fuss Wedding

Do you just need to get the Marriage Certificate but have the large ceremonial part at the same time? Then I will make it easy for you to have a NO FUSS, NO FRILLS ceremony that allows you to get your registered copy of your Marriage Certificate. See examples on my Graham Lambert Marriage Celebrant Facebook page.

Same Sex Weddings

At long last any couple that are not legally married may marry in Australia. I am thrilled to be able to assist all couples to ‘tie the ‘knot’ and live with the love of their life as I do with my spouse. See my GrahamLambertMarriageCelebrantFacebook posts for more.

For All Weddings

Other aspects about all weddings, no matter what type you may choose.

1. Witnesses : The bride and groom must arrange for two witnesses, each be at least 18 years of age, be present at the ceremony and be able to understand the ceremony. If you know no one I can arrange for two witnesses to be there at  extra cost.

2. Translate documents : remember all necessary documents must be translated into English by an official translator. See www.naati.com.au for such official translators.

3. Certificate of Marriage : you get this on the day I marry you. However you will need to wait till after the wedding has been registered with Births Deaths and Marriages to be able to obtain the Marriage Certificate that proves you are married AND has been registered by the government. I assist my couple to obtain this latter certificate after they are married.
